Biography

Richard Ewer holds degrees in Choral and Instrumental Music Education from Utah State University and a Masters in Music Composition from the University of Oregon.  A music educator, Richard taught and directed high school choirs for several years in Eugene, Oregon, before moving to the Phoenix area where he now teaches music and Music Theory at Chandler Preparatory Academy.  He has composed and arranged numerous pieces for many types of performers and ensembles, both vocal and instrumental, and has compositions published by Carl Fischer Music, Alfred Publishing, Shawnee Press and Heritage Music Press.  As a singer, classical guitarist, pianist and performer in musical theater, Richard has had an active performing career.  His wife, Cassandra, is a professional choral singer with several professional choirs, including the Phoenix Chorale, and is the winner of three Grammy Awards.  They make their home in Gilbert.
